This week’s post for BEHIND THE MOTO was my recap of Steel Toe Press’s “Motoblot” motorcycle festival. Formerly Mods vs. Rockers Chicago, Motoblot is four days worth of motorcycle, scooter and hot rod festivities. Motoworks Chicago was there in full force, and so was I, covering their booth and their entry in this year’s Iron Moto Challenge.
No pun intended, but I was particularly proud of Motoworks in how they made LGBT Pride a big part of their presence at Motoblot this year. The event took place the same weekend as the Pride parade and just hours after the monumental SCOTUS decision came down making same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states.
Also featured in this piece is some exclusive aerial photography I captured using my DJI Inspire 1 flying camera platform. There’s some aerial video coming too, so stay tuned for that.
